The fast evolving telecommunications technology are beginning to emerged…
HSDPA is a newer technology a.k.a. 3.5G more advance to 3G platforms. Its capable of 3.6Mbps of speed transfer… My goodness… either Smart, Globe or any telecom here in the Philippines couldn’t utilize that much of speed over the air thru RF, due to its systems capabilities and the pricing that will be reflected to subscribers. Maybe beginning of 2010 they could maximize its feautures and may came along cheaper.
I tested it from my mobile phone, RAZR V6maxx w/ HSDPA;
1. Smart Sim > Internet > 10pesos per 30mins.
2. Globe Sim > Internet > 5pesos per 15mins.
Smart:
- Has maximum 384kbps bandwidth, its in the local 3G spectrum.
- You have to be in a location with a good 3G signal…
Globe:
- A bit faster than 384kbps or up to 512kbps maximum, its in the 3.5G spectrum.
- You have to be in a location with a good 3G signal…
- sometimes speed fluctuates…
Performance of SmartBro prepaid and USB, are the same. It also runs from a 3g / 3.5g signal on the cellular frequency bandwidth.
Same goes with Globe’s Visibility….
Applications is best only for web browsing and emails. Be sure you wont be attaching large files or even upload/download bigger file size.
So if you want a fast internet connection anytime anywhere taht you can hooked up to your mobile PC, try to get a mobile phone which is HSDPA capable….
